Dell Quay Sailing Club Ltd 250 Lottery (DQ250)

  1. Introduction to Dell Quay Sailing Club's Lottery (DQ250)

    Like any member run club, Dell Quay Sailing Club relies on its members to help fund improvements to the club buildings and future development of club related activities racing, sailing, rowing, model boat racing etc. Dell Quay Sailing Club Ltd (DQSC) is a not for profit organisation and therefore we may run a Small Society Lottery. The idea is to have some fun (responsibly) while supporting DQSC and for members to have the chance to win cash or donated prizes. DQSC is calling this lottery DQ250.

  2. Why Take Part?
    1. The DQ250 is a members-only lottery where the prize fund consists of 50% of ticket sales.
      • 50% of all proceeds are paid out in prizes
      • 50% goes towards improving DQSC clubhouse and facilities.
    2. There are:
      • Monthly cash prizes (1st, 2nd, 3rd)
      • A bonus prize, every third month
  3. Legal Status and Eligibility

    The DQ250 is a private small society lottery operated under the UK Gambling Act 2005.

    1. It is only open to current members of DQSC whose membership is valid at the time of the draw.
    2. Members must be a minimum of 18 years to purchase tickets.
    3. The DQ250 Lottery is run solely for the benefit of DQSC.

  4. Management of the DQ250 Lottery
    1. DQ250 is registered with Chichester District Council, as delegated by the Gambling Commission, as the Licensing Authority.
    2. The administrators of the DQ250 lottery will be:
      1. James Pound
      2. Andrew Buchanan
      3. Keith Heppenstall
      4. Michaela Heppenstall
      3. and they are authorised to sign and submit the required returns to Chichester District Council Licensing Authority as required by the terms of the registration.
  5. Liability

    DQSC is not liable for:

    1. Any technical, administrative, or banking errors.
    2. Missed or late entries.
    3. Any indirect or consequential loss arising from participation.

  6. Amendments and Cancellation

    1. DQSC reserves the right to amend, suspend, or terminate the lottery at any time. Changes will be communicated via DQSC channels.
    2. In the event of cancellation, the Licensing Authority forms will be submitted in accordance with the registration.

  7. Payments and Disputes

    1. The General Committee authorises the Hon Treasurer to make payments to the winners when advised of the winning numbers by those authorised to report the DQ250 lottery in para 4b.
    2. Written disputes must be submitted to the General Committee within 7 days of a draw. The General Committee's decision is final.

  8. Data Protection

    Personal information is used solely for lottery administration, in line with the DQSC's Privacy Policy.

  9. How does it work?

    To take part, you must;

    1. Purchase a ticket(s). Each purchased ticket is entered into the monthly Standard Prize draw see also para 12.a.
    2. Each ticket is assigned a unique number and has the date of the Standard Prize draw for which it is valid.
    3. Every third month there will be a Bonus Draw using tickets purchased for that months draw, see para 10.c.

  10. How much does it cost?

    1. £10 per ticket (paid in advance see para 12.a).
    2. You can buy as many tickets as you like.
    3. Purchased tickets are not refundable.
    4. To be eligible to take part in the Bonus Draw, tickets must have been held for the previous 2 monthly standard draws.

  11. What can you win

    1. Monthly Prizes (Standard prizes). Each month's prize pot is distributed as:
      • 1st Prize - 15%
      • 2nd Prize - 10%
      • 3rd Prize - 7.5%
      With 17.5% being held for the third month bonus prize.

      Example: If 50 tickets are sold

      • Prize pot = £500
      • 1st: £75
      • 2nd: £50
      • 3rd: £37.50

    2. Third Month Bonus Prize. During the third month, there is an additional bonus prize.

      • This is based on the combined prize contributions across this, and the previous 2 months draws
      • Only members who have participated in the three consecutive monthly draws are eligible to be entered in the Bonus Prize Draw.

      Example: With 50 tickets sold per month, the bonus prize would be £262.50.

    3. Donated prizes will be used to provide an additional prize for the Bonus Draw (this prize is not guaranteed).

    12. Terms and Conditions

  12. Draws

    1. Purchase a ticket(s) by 23:59 on the 20th day of the month for that month's Standard Prize draw or if buying for multiple months.
      • Tickets MUST be purchased via Bank Transfer to the DQSC's bank account and MUST use the Reference DQ250.
    2. Draws take place monthly at the clubhouse on the last Friday of each month.
    3. You do not need to be present to win (but it's encouraged!)
    4. Winning numbers only will be:
      1. Announced on the night
      2. Published in eNews
    5. Prize winning ticket numbers, drawn during the third monthly draw for standard prizes will be returned to the bonus draw after the 3rd prize ticket has been drawn.
    6. The result of the draw is final and binding.

  13. Ticket Purchase

    1. Tickets are sold on a monthly basis (you may buy up to 12 months' worth in one go i.e. January to December, you cannot purchase tickets for the following year until your membership of DQSC has been renewed).
    2. Members may purchase as many tickets as they like per month; each ticket receives a unique number with the date of the draw for which it has been purchased printed on it (if you buy 1 ticket for 12 monthly Standard Prize draws you will receive 12 tickets, emailed to you in a pdf format).
    3. Late payments are treated as entries for the following month.

  14. Payment of Prizes

    1. Prize money is paid by bank transfer within 5 working days
    2. All prizes are paid by BACS to the members bank account. You may be asked by the Treasurer to supply your bank details if you win.
    3. No cash payments will be made.
    4. Unclaimed prizes due to incorrect or missing bank details will be held for 3 months from the date of the draw, after which funds revert to DQSC.

  15. Responsible Participation

    Members are encouraged to participate responsibly and within their means.
