Powerboat Training
Dell Quay Sailing Club is certified as a Royal Yachting Association Training Centre
DQSC Power Boat Training
Dell Quay offer subsidised power boat and safety boat training to club members so that they can develop their skills and become
Patrol Boat helms in support of club sailing activities. The courses run over a weekend, and it is important that students attend
both days.
For cost, check out the booking page.
The first step to becoming a Patrol Boat helm is the RYA Power Boat Level 2 course see course information below. On completion of this course, and to provide some experience, we ask that members volunteer for at least 4 patrol boat crew duties, which will provide them with experience of being on the water during sailing activities and should also allow them to gain some additional helm experience. The final qualification is the RYA Safety Boat course, after which you will hold the necessary qualification to become a Patrol Boat helm at Dell Quay.
Both of these courses are available to club members only. To apply for a place, please visit the club's Calendar page and select the desired date and course.
If you have any questions, please contact Graham Causer, our Chief Instructor Power at powerboattraining@dellquaysc.co.uk
