Priory Bay Day Sail 2nd June 2024
What a great day we had sailing over to Priory Bay for the Day Sail! We were all expecting a F4 northerly wind to blow us all the way to the IOW. However, once we had reached the mouth of Chichester harbour, the wind had almost completely died.
After a pleasant motor-sail across to Priory Bay, we anchored up to enjoy teas, snacks, and a few even braved a swim!
In total, 11 yachts (ranging from 19ft to 32ft) and 25 people came across to anchor for the afternoon.
We had a lovely picnic on the beach, as well as a few ice creams from Baywatch Cafe on Duver Beach. By 16:00, it was time for us all to sail back. By this point, a perfect F3-4 south easterly wind had built, allowing for a downwind sail all the way home.
All in all, a wonderful day sail, with Priory Bay resembling a Caribbean beach (as long as you didnt touch the water).
See you all next time!
