First Aid Course Available

The DQSC Training Centre have arranged for Aboard Boat Coaching (www.aboardboatcoaching.co.uk) to deliver a 1 day RYA First Aid course at Dell Quay on Saturday 25th January 2025. The course will run from 0900 1700.

This course is designed to provide a working knowledge of first aid for people using small craft and to support skippers on bigger boats. As well as all the usual First Aid requirements the course focuses on the boat perspective, including:

• Recovery position in a confined space
• CPR, including the drowning protocol
• Cold shock and hypothermia from immersion and/or exposure
• Seasickness and dehydration
• Medical assistance or advice by VHF
• Helicopter rescue

On completion of this course you will receive a certificate valid for 3 years that illustrates your ability to provide first aid to people when using small craft, and to provide support to other services in the event first aid is required.
