General Club Information
Opening Hours
The Club is open to all members via a key pad at any time. The Club is open during events shown in the program, typically racing, social sailing and social events.
The Bar
Opens Saturdays and Sundays during & after racing and of course for social events. (see Duties/Calendar)
The Galley
Open to coincide with racing. Please note that hygiene regulations require that no-one under the age of 16 is allowed in the galley. (See Duties)
Health and Safety Policy
Dell Quay is conscious of its duties and to this end has a Health and Safety Policy in force. This consists of risk assessments and monitoring of the facilities and structures of the club.
Smoking Policy
Dell Quay Sailing Club is a NO SMOKING club.
Workshop and Sail Loft
Boats may be left in the workshop by prior booking using this form, and paying in advance. A members login is
required to use the booking form.
Any unidentified equipment will be disposed of at the end of the year.
Club Pulling Dinghies
Two dinghies are kept on haul offs from the Club landing stage for the use of members. They should be not used for more than 20 minutes and must be returned immediately after use when they should be fully hauled off and the line secured.
Club Sailing Dinghies
The club has a number of dinghies a kayak and 2 paddle boards available to club members, a members login is required to use the booking form.
Dogs
Are not to be brought onto any part of the Club premises except on a lead and under proper control. Dogs are not permitted in the snug or galley at any time.
Members' Property
No members property is to be left permanently in the changing rooms or Club rooms. Any such property will be removed to the sail loft and be disposed of at the end of the season.
Sails and equipment should not be brought into the Club rooms.
Visitors
No visitor may be introduced more than 4 times in one season. Whenever a visitor is introduced a full entry MUST be made in the visitors' book.
Children and Babies
No area of the Club other than changing rooms or toilets is to be used for attending to toilet needs.
Parents' Responsibility
Parents and Guardians of members under the age of 18 are warned that the Club cannot accept responsibility for children or other persons. Accordingly parents and guardians are advised to make their own assessments regarding the abilities and safety of their children or wards and, where necessary, arrange suitable supervision and control at all times, ashore and afloat.
Car Parking
No car shall be taken onto the quay except when loading or unloading.
Limited car parking is available in the designated area of the Dinghy Park and for berth holders on their own berths.
Club Committees Meet monthly as follows:
House Committee 2nd Monday of the month at 7.00pm
Cruiser Committee 2nd Thursday of the month at 7:30pm
Sailing Committee 2nd Monday of the month at 7.30pm
General Committee 4th Monday of the month at 7.30pm
Paddle Sports Committee 1st Monday of the month at 7.30pm
If members wish to meet a committee member or forward suggestions to improve the running of the Club they are welcome to do so in person to a member or by email to the secretary before meetings.
Members and Visitors Property
All boats, vehicles, motors, equipment or other articles left or stored in or on any part of the Club property will be at the owner's risk, and the Club will not be responsible for any loss or damage thereto from any cause whatsoever.
Duties
Members are reminded that if they are unable to do duties as allocated it is their responsibility to arrange a replacement or swap with another club member by using SCM. Members telephone numbers can be found in SCM by other members to assist in a duty swap.
