Winter Lay-Up - Lift In Lift Out
DQSC Cruiser Lay-Up, Allocation of Berths/Moorings and Associated Fees Policy

Cruisers Winter Lay-up on the Quay (Beginning Nov-End March dates are tide dependant)

Maximum LOA accepted is 8.0m (26ft 3in).

Mast are to be lowered and removed from the boat prior to being Lifted Out
-
Masts may be stored in the Black Shed on the racks provided or against the rafters in
the Work Shop and should be clearly labeled with the owners name and boat name.

A request for winter storage form will be placed in the Cruising Section of the Club Website.
The intended Lift out/in dates are also displayed there and, in the calendar/year book.

The person coordinating the Lift Out/in on behalf of the Cruiser Committee will allocate
spaces on the Quay. Spaces will be allocated on the basis of:

Priority to those that have had a space the previous year

Spaces will then be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Spaces will be allocated taking into account the mix of vessels
to ensure that the optimum use of the available space on the Quay is made.

Fee's

The cost of the crane (for Lift Out and Lift In) is divided between the number of boats
being lifted and a small amount will be added to cover any extra costs ie overtime.

The allocated space on the Quay is charged at a fixed Fee per boat (no allowance is
made for LOA) which will be increased iaw the DQSC General Committee guidance on
an annual basis.

An allowance for consumables (electricity) will be added.

The total cost will be advised to the members lifted and full payment is due by the day
of Lift Out.

Organisation of Lift-In/Out.

The organiser of the Lift out/in is required to conduct briefs to the team conducting the lifting/slinging
and brief the crane driver on the requirements for the operation.

Boat owners are required to provide their own chocks to stand the boats on.

Owners will be called to assist with the chocking of their boat when advised the boat is in position
and ready to be finally lowered.

Insurance. Owners should ensure that the vessels insurance covers.

All boats being lifted on/off the Quay (or on/off a trailer). The Hired in Plant Insurance
covers the crane but does not cover the load ie the boat.

When Layed-up on the Quay there is sufficient cover for damage to other boats and/or club buildings.

DQSC doesn't accept any responsibility for loss or damage whilst being lifted or when layed-up on the Quay however caused.

Application for Berthing/Moorings

All applications must be sent to the Hon Data Secretary in writing who will pass Mooring
applications to the Moorings Officer. By applying for a DQSC berth/mooring you agree to
abide by the conditions laid down in the berthing policy.

Moorings will be allocated on the basis of:

Priority to those that have had a mooring the previous year.

Moorings will then be allocated on a first come first served basis according to LOA so as to remain
within the Chichester Harbour Authorities moorings classifications.

Where possible a vessels draft will be taken into account when deciding on the mooring allocation.

The Moorings Officer reserves the right to transfer boats between moorings of the same category/class
on either a temporary or permanent basis, in order to optimise the use of club moorings.

The Moorings Officer reserves the right to make use of allocated moorings on a temporary basis during any
known absence of 5 days or greater.

Moorings. The boat owner is responsible for ensuring that when using the mooring the boat is secure at all
times. Any concerns/failures of the mooring equipment should be notified to the Moorings Officer immediately.

Fee's
A fee for the use of berths/moorings is levied - rates shown alongside the appropriate berths/moorings in
the tables shown on the DQSC Website.

The berthing fees (except Cruiser Lay-up fees see para 9) are to be reviewed annually by the General Committee.

All berthing fees are for a twelve month period, January 1st December 31st.

Members being allocated a berth after 1st September will be charged 50% of the annual fee.
