D Day Commemoration
To mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day including the lighting a beacon in celebration of the light of peace that emerged out of the darkness of war
During WWII Apuldram Manor Farm land was the site of an RAF Advanced Landing Ground from which three Czech squadrons flew sorties in preparation for, during and after D-Day
Free entrance from 6.30pm
International Tribute at 9.15pm followed by lighting of the beacon
Fish and chips / Vegetarian Spring Roll
bar, tea and coffee in the clubhouse
Sing along with the DQSC Singing Group
Slide show of D-Day and history display
Dress in period clothes
For children: decorating jam jars with tea lights
Pre-booked fish and chips or vegetarian spring roll at £12.00 per head to be served between 7pm and 8pm
Please book and pay for your fish and chips no later than 28th May.
